12m WORK BOAT

The owners of this 12 m workboat equipped with a knuckle boom crane wished to obtain an MCA Code certificate but no vessel drawings or stability information were available.

Pratt Naval Architecture laser-scanned the vessel with one of the fastest scanners in the UK, carried out an inclining experiment, and produced a Stability Information Book calculated to maximise the vessel’s cargo carrying and lifting capacity.

Pratt Naval Architecture also acted as the Certifying Authority Nominated Surveyor, carrying out the MCA Code survey leading to the issue of a certificate.
