12-20m Inland Passenger Vessels

Following a previous successful project partnership working on the design of multiple passenger vessels for the 2012 London Olympics, well-known UK builder Colecraft returned to Pratt Naval Architecture for the design of a new passenger vessel to their client, Canal and River Tours of Stratford upon Avon.

Specific requirements included taking advantage of soon-to-be updated rules allowing greater number of passengers, restricted draught and air draught.

The design was prepared to take anticipate and take full advantage of the forthcoming new addition of  MCA regulations.  A comprehensive package of drawings was assessed and approved by MCA.

Pratt Naval Architecture supervised the stability test, witnessed by MCA and following successful trials, MCA awarded a Passenger Ship Certificate.

Following the success of this project, Colecraft returned for further passenger vessel designs both with and without damage survivability, shown above. 

With MCA presently (January 2019) consulting on rules which would require upgrading older vessels without damage survivability, Pratt Naval Architecture can assist with modifications or design of new vessels which meet current and proposed future safety regulations.
